Event Management students at the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ have been putting their skills into practice to help charities.
Two events took place recently at the South Downs Social café in the city.

The first was a cocktail-making evening to raise awareness for the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Beacon Homeless Charity – the event (pictured above) also raised £106.86 for the organisation.
Students enlisted the help of the Boozy Bar which runs cocktail-making masterclasses for the event.
A Bingo night (pictured top) brought in £471.73 for the Hampshire hospices, Naomi House and Jack’s Place.
Neal Wyatt founder of the South Downs Social praised the students’ efforts and organisational abilities. “They were very professional and a credit to the university,” he said.

A third event – a clothes swap to promote a re-use and recycle message – raised £536.11 for cancer Research UK.
It was held on behalf ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ BID (Business Improvement District) at the University’s entertainment venue, The Vault.
All three events were part of the final year Event Management module - Contemporary Issues in Event Management, where the students work with local clients to run an event which tackles a concern of the client.
